James Swilley, 56, of Bartlett passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett. He was a loyal alumnus of Temple University. Mr. Swilley was a loving husband, father and son. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ruthann Cooney; children, Alexander Swilley of Bartlett and Bailey Swilley of Brooklyn, NY; parents, Joe and Rena Swilley of New Mexico; sisters, Rina Jo Leonard of Connecticut and Rita Duncan of Georgia; brothers, Bill Swilley of Maryland and Richard Swilley of California; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends including, Pat and Cheryl Shanaghan; and his loving pets, Scout, Lucy and Asheley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7 2014 and a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N.
