James loved God, his family and his country fiercely. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father. His love was evident anytime he spoke about his family. His wife and children were the center of his world.
He was of the Baptist faith and attended Faith Baptist Church. James was a proud American who served in the United States Marine Corp and later as a security contractor for Blackwater. He adamantly believed in everything America stood for and fearlessly defended her by serving numerous deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was a Hero and True Patriot.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Alisa Waltz and his three children Taylor Paige Waltz, Tyler James Waltz, and Tucker Nate Waltz.
He will be dearly missed by his stepfather Reginald Dean Hankins (Marilyn), his siblings Michael Wayne Waltz (Maria), Phillip Wesley Waltz (Carolyn), and Phyllis Vandenburg (Ed), Father and Mother-in-law Roy and Joyce Jennings, Brother and Sister-in-law John and Mindy Jennings and nieces and nephews Melinda Jennings, Jonathan Jennings, Marissa Atkinson (Timothy), Logan Waltz, and Jacob Blanchard as well as many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Jean Hankins and brother Richard Waltz.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day. (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
A visitation for James will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 18, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N Germantown Pkwy,, Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Monday, October 18, 2021 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
