Janice Maureen Shepherd

Janice Wilson Shepherd (79) of Bartlett, TN, passed away on July 9, 2026 in Somerville, TN. She was born on April 6, 1947 to James Gordy and Eva Ledbetter Wilson in Tremont, Mississippi. After graduating from high school, she received a BS degree in Business Education from Mississippi State University. Janice was a business and English teacher for many years, worked for a computer company for 17 years, and First Tennessee Bank for 13 years where she retired.

Janice was a member of the Great Oaks Church of Christ. During her younger years, she taught Bible classes for the little ones. Being born and raised on a farm in Tremont, Mississippi, her Christian parents set a Christian example for all of their children.

Janice is survived by her husband Mike Shepherd of 54 years and a son Michael Lorne (Kimberly) Shepherd; sisters, Shirley Whitfield and Judy Rogers; brothers, Lanny (Becky) Wilson, and sister-in-laws; Mary Helen Wilson and Jimmie Lou Wilson, and many nieces and nephews.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, James Gordy Wilson and Eva Ledbetter Wilson; her sisters, Helen Stone, Brenda Wilson, and Jackie Lucas; her brothers, Charles Ross Wilson, James Robert Wilson, John (Sandra) Wilson, and Gerald Lee Wilson; and brother-in-laws, Johnny Whitfield, Lowell Rogers, and Charles Stone
