Forever in our Hearts
Jeffrey David Kail, 55, of Arlington, TN, passed away of an apparent heart-attack on Friday, March 15, 2019. Jeff was born February 15, 1964 in Memphis, TN. Jeff was employed by Yarbrough Cable (Certex) for about 20 years as outside salesman. He had similar sales positions for other companies since he graduated from Raleigh Egypt High School in 1982.
Jeff grew up loving horses, playing sports, hunting and just being outdoors. He was full of life, dry humored, passionate about his beliefs, generous with his worldly possessions, kind to all who crossed his path, and if you were in his inner circle you were extra special. To put it briefly, what was his -----was yours.
When his sons were younger he coached their ball teams and was a great athlete himself. He was an avid fan of the Memphis Tigers and loved going to the football games. Jeff was known for his cooking – whether it was competing in barbeque contests, grilling on one of his many grills or cooking his famous chicken and dumplings to share with everyone. His neighborhood pools parties were infamous and his backyard was open to everyone whether he was home or not. And, when he moved to his lake house it was fishing for all to enjoy. Jeff, known as Papaw to his grandkids, enjoyed watching Julian and Natalie run around the property, fishing with them, and taking them for a ride in his golf cart.
On behalf of the family, Jeff will be missed in a way that words cannot explain. We have comfort in knowing that his faith in God was strong and that he is joined in heaven with his loving mother, father, father-in-law and grandparents.
He was preceded in death by his parents Martha Elizabeth Neyman Kail and F. Roland Kail.
Jeff is survived by his children Daniel (Julia) Kail, Zachery (Katie) Kail and their children Julian and Natalie; his wife of 29 years Pamela Ann Myers Kail and her mother Patricia Ann Myers; his siblings Christopher “Chris” Roland Kail, Anne Elizabeth (Mike) Missett; and his uncles Edwin “Buddy” (Phyllis) Neyman, Joseph “Joe” (Linda), his aunt Sandra Neyman, and dear cousins Laura Neyman Kessinger, Todd Neyman, David Neyman, and Jody Neyman.
Visitation will be on Tuesday March 19th, from 5:00 to 7:00 and the funeral service will be Wednesday March 20th at 2:00 at Memphis Funeral Home 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38134. The burial service will be at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis TN 38134. There will be a celebration of Jeff’s life for all family and friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at his favorite place – Rizzi’s 6230 Greenlee St., Arlington, TN 38002. Jeff was a significant supporter of St. Jude, in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of his name would honor him.
