Our beloved Jennifer “Jenny” Lynn Gipson Bills, of Arlington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2023.
Jenny was a caring wife, daughter, sister, “Gigi” and friend. She brought light and love to all who were blessed to know her.
Jenny was born in Memphis on February 10, 1983 to Billy and Terry Gipson. Her parents instilled in Jenny a solid foundation in the Lord. Jenny’s deep faith and devotion to God were a constant throughout her life.
Jenny was married for five happy years to the love of her life, Timothy Bills. A whirlwind courtship led to a proposal at Graceland and a deep bond that enriched both their lives.
With her sister, Melissa Simpson (Mark), Jenny shared decades of memories and a connection special to sisters.
Jenny will be missed especially by her six nieces and nephews, Michael, Abigail, Claire, Jacob, Hazel and Harrison, who couldn't have asked for a better “Gigi”. Jenny was always quick to show a picture or proudly share their latest accomplishments. She truly loved being their aunt.
Her love for kids was evident early on. It was natural that Jenny became a teacher. She impacted hundreds of kids through her years teaching at Bon Lin Elementary. Students knew Ms. Gipson (later Mrs. Bills) didn’t expect perfection, but she did expect effort.
Jenny was a steadfast cheerleader and supporter of those around her, always looking to help others. She enjoyed volunteering at the Memphis Animal Shelter and adopted her beloved pitbull Magnolia, “Maggie”.
She loved sports, particularly the Memphis Tigers and Grizzlies. Jenny was a big fan, and if warranted, a critic too. She knew basketball and football inside and out and was always ready to talk about the latest game, news or player.
Jenny’s loved ones would like to thank all those who’ve reached out expressing their support and prayers. Jenny will be missed by her family, friends - of which there are many, colleagues and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Shirley Thiele and her aunt, Cynthia Thiele. Her grandparents, Jack and Polly Gipson and Edward Thiele survive Jenny.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 15th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will follow from 10:00 to 11:00 am, then a committal service from 11:00 to 11:30 am.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MemphisFuneralGermantownParkway.com for the Bills family.
