Jerry Wayne Gillentine, 77, of Memphis, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maurine Jenkins. Mr. Gillentine is survived by, his loving wife of 32 years, Cathy Gillentine, children, Jae Gillentine, Alicia Gillentine-Carr and her husband John Marshall Carr III, Matt Gillentine and his wife Nicci, and David Spickard, grandchildren, Niles Gillentine, John Marshall Carr IV, and Mattison Gillentine, and one great-grandchild. Mr. Gillentine served proudly in the US Air Force. He was an exceptional bowler and an avid Memphis Tigers fan. One of his great accomplishments was building and owning his business, J.W. Gillentine LCHB. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, July 30th from 11-1pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The funeral will begin at 1pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
