Jerry E. King, 77 of Memphis, TN, went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2012. He served in the United States Navy, worked in the furniture business; was Mayor of 56, AR. He was retired from Bradford Showroom. Jerry was a member of Gateway Baptist Church where he tutored Spanish at Gateway Christian School he also worked at Sam’s Club as a greeter. Jerry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jo Ann Fleming King; brother, Mike King of Ramer, TN; sister Connie Jamerson of Eads, TN; daughters, Valerie Cresswell and Carla Paratore; sons, Barry King, Jerry “Jay” E. King, II, Kellie Matthews, Jeff Matthews, 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15 from 5-7 pm at Gateway Baptist Church, 4070 Macon Road, Memphis, TN. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 16 at 10 am at Gateway Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Germantown Road.
