Jerry Lynn Mathis

Jerry Lynn Mathis, 72, passed away on May 10, 2026, after a courageous years-long battle with cancer. Born on October 7, 1953, Jerry was born and raised in Memphis and was a proud 1971 graduate of Trezevant High School.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis Mathis and Rogene Morgan Mathis.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Debbie Lynn Vincent Mathis; his daughters, Amy Martin and husband Troy, and Ashley Brown and husband Ronnie; his sister, Linda Kaye Sutton and husband Jim; and his cherished grandchildren, Logan Jackson and Charli Martin. He will also be remembered by a host of nieces and nephews.

A longtime member of Ellendale Baptist Church, Jerry was a man of strong Christian faith. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time on the course and also had a special love for dogs, especially his beloved Missy.

Jerry will be remembered for his strength, kindness, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Please join the family on Thursday, May 21, 2026 to celebrate Jerry's life. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm, funeral service at 2:00pm, followed by a graveside committal at 3:00pm. All services for Jerry will be held at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens located at 3700 N Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN 38133.
