Joan P Shelby

She was born to the late Charles and Frances Peters on December 17, 1934 in Bertrand, Missouri. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bobby Gene Shelby; her son, Steven Shelby; her brothers, Charles Peters, Lester “Buddy” Peters; and her sister, Mary Pannier and her husband Al.

Joan is survived by her two sons, Wesley Shelby (Esther) of Collierville, TN, David Shelby (Sherri) of Bartlett, TN; her daughter in law, Vickie Shelby of New Orleans, LA; five grandsons, Matt Morat (Melissa), Jason Morat, Patrick Shelby (Sarah), Nick Shelby, Brayden Shelby (Ellie); two granddaughters, Heather Shelby Choquette (Jacques), Charli Shelby Gonder (Morgan); ten great-grandchildren, Madison Morat, Parker Morat, Mackenzy Choquette, Amelia Choquette, Liam Shelby, Anniston Shelby, Maggie Gonder, Watson Gonder, Linden Gonder, Jon David Shelby; and her sister in laws, Judy Peters and Johnnie Peters.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of your choice.

Family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday, February 5 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. A celebration of life will follow at 4:00pm.
