John Daniel Fussell, Jr.

John Daniel Fussell, Jr, 84, of Bartlett, passed away at the Tennessee State Veteran’s Home in Humboldt, TN on Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Bartlett, was a retired (1973) Navy Lieutenant, having served in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Fussell, the husband of Martha Jean Smith Fussell for 36 years, is also survived by a step daughter, Julie Copland of Fernley, NV; daughter, Eva Fussell of Memphis, TN; son, Wayne Fussell (Tonya) of Sumpter, SC; three sisters, Evelyn Frazee of Gallatin, TN, Bonnie Sides of California and Martha Law of Holtville, AL; brother, David Fussell of Glendale, AZ; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step daughter, Daphne Sartain of Brighton, TN; son, Rudy Fussell of AL; sister, Ann Bray of Jackson, TN; brother, Wayne Fussell of Jackson, TN and his parents, John D. Fussell, SR. and Eva Lena Fussell of Jackson, TN. Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, March 19 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in West Tennessee Veteran Cemetery.
