He was a graduate of Marian High School in Hazelton, PA and later received a degree from State Technical Institute of Memphis.
He is survived by Bettie Craft LaBuda, who he was united with May 6, 1994, John LaBuda, Stephen Labuda, Mary Banko, and Laura Sneed, 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
He served thirty years in the US Navy. He received the "Navy Unit Commendation" twice, the Good Conduct Medal five times, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the RUN Champaign Medal. After continuing his his education at State Technical Institute of Memphis, he continued to serve the US Navy as a contracted teacher/Instructor until his final retirement. He was a strong Patriot and dedicated to serving his country.
He enjoyed coaching Little League baseball in his younger days. He was a very active and strong bowler, prize winner pinball player, enjoyed camping and did some California fly fishing. He was known to be a happy guy and the life of a party.
A gathering of family and friends for Jack will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A celebration of life service will at 10:00 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Memphis Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
His favorite charity is the VFW, donations in lieu of flowers to the VFW would be appreciated.
