John Lamberth

Johnny was born June 20, 1948, in the Ancon Canal Zone to the late John Merle Lamberth and Linnie Willis Lamberth Hoch.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Terri, and his brother, Charles Robert Lamberth Sr.

Johnny was a proud 1966 graduate of Trezevant High School in Memphis, Tennessee. He went on to build a career as an electrician and was a proud member of IBEW Memphis 474 for 58 years. Johnny was a hardworking man who took great pride in his trade. Among his many accomplishments, he helped install the lights on the “new” bridge connecting Memphis and Arkansas. When work was slow in Memphis, Johnny wasn’t afraid to travel, from Florida, New York, and Colorado to keep doing what he loved.

Outside of work, Johnny had a passion for the things that made life exciting. He loved fishing, fast cars, slot cars, stock car racing, and drag racing. He enjoyed the thrill of anything with wheels and a motor and could always find something to keep him interested.

In his later years, Johnny made his home with his son, Ben, and Lindsey, who lovingly cared for him and were by his side.

Johnny leaves behind his sons, John William “Billy” Lamberth; Ben Lamberth (Lindsey); and Justin Clark.Johnny is survived by his sister, Martha Burge Lamberth. Martha shared a special bond with Johnny throughout their lives. She will miss her brother dearly and carry his memory with her always.

His grandchildren include Taryn Michelle Lamberth, Christopher William Lamberth, Corey Mason, Casey Lamberth Gardner, Gavin Lamberth, Jayden Clark, Alexis Rose and Timber Lamberth.

He leaves a legacy of love through his great-grandchildren, Riley Lamberth, Damien Lamberth, Palmer Gardner, Hazley Lamberth, and Wrendyn Rose. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Matt Burge, Cheri Burge Kronthal, Debra Lamberth Poston, and Charles Robert “Chuk” Lamberth Jr.

His memory will also be cherished by his great-nieces and great-nephews, James Lee Burge, James Tyce Burge, Kylie Kronthal, Kayla Kronthal, Keegan Kronthal, and Kaden Kronthal.

Johnny will be remembered as a hardworking man, a skilled electrician, and someone who loved the simple pleasures of fishing, racing, cars, and spending time with the people he loved. His memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends who knew and loved him.
