John D, my great uncle, was one of the finest men I ever got to know throughout my life. I was texting friends and family certain bible verses I would think to share, and John D was one of those people. Once he replied to my message sharing with me about how he loved Romans 8:28. He was also a really big fan of the New York Yankees,  and we all know how much he would love to talk about it and get into the games. John D has been missed,  but I know he's in a wonderfull place called Heaven.  Love Hunter

I had the pleasure of working for Dr Moffitt at People's pharmacy on Park while I was still an undergraduate student in the 1990s. He was a great mentor and pharmacist that inspired many a student. I am very sorry for your loss and may you each have comfort in knowing that you will see him again. 

John D. and I were best friends in high school.  As a matter of fact, he and I shared a desk, during morning assembly in the study hall, for the four years we attended high school in Lexington.  I remember him, as most classmates would, as a very mild mannered and studious student.  He was so well liked that no one could possibly have anything bad to say about him.  I was a good student throughout high school but not to his level.  Many times, especially in algebra, he took care of me in many, many ways.  The last reunion that I attended was approximately 3 years ago and my wife and I sat directly across the table from John D. and his wife at the K.C. Farm House restaurant, during dinner on Friday Night, prior to the Saturday reunion.  I am very deeply saddened to here of his death but exceedingly happy that we had the opportunity to talk.

from High school.  Lifting you up in prayer.


John D. was my best friend in high school and beyond. Although our contact became less in later years I cherished it when  we could get together and make up for lost time. My memories are many and I will always fondly remember him. I can't help but wonder what kind of baseball goody he will tell me about when we see each other in heaven. My thoughts and prayers are for Shirley and family during this time. 

John had a great impact on my life even from a far distance. I learned with hard work and dedication you can do anything and most importantly family comes first. I loved talking with John because he always had a lot of wisdom and common sense in his words and i have tried to model a lot of my life the same way. He has always treated my family with great love and respect. We will miss him but have assurance that we will see him again  in Heaven.   Isaiah 25:8-9.

I loved my wonderful brother so much. He was always an inspiration to me in the way he lived his life and his caring for others.  I will always miss him.
(This is my oldest sister). A favorite way he introduced me to people.
