Paul was a Korean War veteran who loved his country he so proudly served in the US Navy. He spent his life repairing Time Clocks at the Memphis company he owned, Acme Sales. Paul was also a recreational pilot who loved to fly just about anywhere with whoever would go with him. A charismatic story teller who loved his family and could be seen on weekends sitting on his couch smoking a cigar watching the Tennessee Vols and cursing the refs. And every year at Christmas he made sure his grandkids got a seat at the Nutcracker.
Paul is survived by his companion, Beverly LaRoche, 3 Children; William C. “Butch” (Helen) Blancq, John A. “Bubba” (Terry Sue) Blancq, and Barry S. (Della) Blancq. 6 grandchildren; Jessica R. Blancq, Barry A. (Sally) Blancq, John M. “Mickey” Blancq, Bonnie R. (Brandon) Turner, Shelly R. (Bruce) Barger, Stephen K. Blancq, 8 great grandchildren; Kelsie Wright, Megan Abbott, Amelia Blancq, Freeman Blancq, Smith Blancq, Luke Blancq, Colt Turner, Cash Turner, and 1 great great granddaughter, Ava Trehern.
A visitation for John will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. A committal service will be Monday, January 31, 2022 at 1:00 PM at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125.
In lieu of flowers donations can be offered to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on Paul’s behalf.
