Johnnie V. Smith, 70, of Memphis, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014. He was a dearly loved husband and father. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Mary R. Smith, his daughter Jeanna Smith, 2 brothers, Charles E Smith and William H. Smith, and three sisters, Doris Murphy, Diane Carpenter and Rita Rutledge. He was a retired master carpenter from Local 345 and a church deacon. He loved to travel, riding his bicycle and walking trails. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, July 21 from 6-8pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10am, also at the funeral home.
