Johnny R. "JR" Sullivan

Johnny R Sullivan, Born July 18, 1929 Died: February 7, 2020. Dad leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Ruby K Sullivan, Sons, Rusty (Kathy), Barry (Tammy), Curtis (Leigh), Tim (Vicki). Grandchildren: Jason, Bari Lyn, Chase, Bailey, British, Jared, Ashton, Kirby, Collin, Casey, Kayla and 16 great grandchildren. Katie Jerden was like a daughter to him.

Lt. Sullivan spent 25 years with the Memphis Police Department and 21 years with Shelby County Sheriffs Department, retiring in 2002.

Dad loved the Lord, his family, friends, fishing, his garden, watching The Grizzlies, talking politics with his sons and sitting on his swing with mom.

Services will be on Monday, February 10th at Memphis Funeral Home on Germantown Road. Visitation is from 9:00 am - 10:00, Funeral service to follow at 10:00am.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Mr.Johnny and within that time I grew to love him.He was a very sweet and humble person.Im gonna really miss going to visit with him and seeing that smile on his face.Mr.Johnny will always be remembered and have a very special place in my heart.

Surviving older sister, Velma Sullivan Moor, 99, lives in Gulf Shores Alabama. She and many nieces, nephews, and other family members loved him very much and send their sympathy to the family and their children.
