He was born to the late Joseph Jenkins, Sr. and Louise Ellis Jenkins on July 6, 1938 in Weir, Mississippi.
From an early age, he was always determined, motivated, and an incredibly hard worker. Anyone who knew him could attest to his unyielding work ethic. He was in the printing business for the majority of his life and co-founded Jenkins Graphics, Inc. alongside his wife, Barbara and son, Wayne. A lover of all things outdoors, he enjoyed horses and being in the yard or on his land anytime, he could. Known for his pranks, wit, humor and storytelling- you never knew what he may try and pull but he always loved to entertain people. More than any earthly accomplishment, he was incredibly proud of his family and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with them. Emmett is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Barbara Jenkins; his son, Wayne Jenkins and his wife Mindy; his grandchildren, Allen Jenkins and his wife Paige, Nik Jenkins; his great grandson, AJ Jenkins; and his sister, Peggy Wood. He is predeceased in death by his son, Kenneth Jenkins.
