Joseph Turk, 86 of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away December 12, 2023 and was reunited with the love of his life, Wilma Turk. Joseph was born on March 21, 1937 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Victor and Mary Turk.
He served his country in the United States Navy, serving over 25 years and retiring in 1981. After his retirement he worked as a Tech Editor for TSM Corporation in Memphis. He was deeply devout Christian man and took much strength in his faith. He and his wife Wilma began attending Bellevue Baptist Church in 1977. He was an usher and fondly known as the Candyman by children in the church because he always had candy to give them. He and Wilma began attending Ellendale Baptist Church in the early 2000’s and were active members until their deaths. He enjoyed collecting model cars and was an avid reader as well as an active member of Friends of the Library.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Turk and his loving wife of 56 years, Wilma Turk and numerous aunts and uncles.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, children, Keith Turk (Marlana Rose) of Bartlett, TN, Karen Marshall of Memphis, TN; nieces Lori Naraz, Tammy Cordes; nephews, Phillip Vandermeer, Paul Vandermeer, David Kings and Doug Kings.
A memorial service will be held at on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Ellendale Baptist Church, 3861 Broadway Rd., Bartlett, TN 38135 from 11am-1pm. Visitation will begin at 11am with services commencing at 12:00pm.
The family request, in lieu of flowers memorials be made to, Ellendale Baptist Church, Friends of the Library or any Veteran charity.
