She lived a life of full surrender to her Lord, continually trusting that she was indeed loved by God with an everlasting love, and that underneath her were His everlasting arms. He alone was her hope in life and in death.
Joyce grew up in Miami, where she met her husband, Bob Moore. She was married to Bob for 58 years until his death in 2015. They moved to Memphis in the early 70’s. He had put in an application to this new company, Federal Express, and was hired! The rest is history. Memphis was quite a change from Miami, but once she was introduced to the Christian Women’s Club, she found the place to help connect her to her new home. She embraced it, the ladies embraced her, and welcomed her right in. Bob and Joyce attended Central Church for many years; Howard Oakley was her spiritual father and his wisdom had a huge impact on her Christian walk. In later years they attended Grace Evangelical Church in Germantown.
Joyce was quick to tell you about the Gospel that changed her life. She was a prayer warrior and loved to spend time with her Lord and Bible daily. Her little bowed head was a sign that she was doing business with her Father, what a precious memory. Her faith has now become sight ~ Glory!
She is survived by her daughter Cyndee Ross (Jeff), son Bob Moore, Jr (Sherry), sister Jill Mathis and 2 grandchildren, Jordan Ross and Amber Moore-Whiteman.
We want to thank the staff at the Memphis Jewish Home for the loving care they gave her for many years, until her very last breath. We are eternally grateful.
In respect of Joyce's wishes, the family will have a graveside service.
We extend our gratitude to everyone that has provided love and support during her illness.
