Kenneth Hugh Hall

Kenneth “Ken” Hugh Hall was born on October 21, 1952, in New Albany, Mississippi, to Hugh and Thelma Hall. He spent much of his childhood in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, where he was raised alongside his grandparents and formed many cherished memories. Ken later moved with his family to Memphis, Tennessee, where he graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Memphis.

In 1972, Ken began a long and successful career with Memphis Light, Gas and Water. He worked as a high-voltage electrician and later became a crew leader before retiring in 2000. Throughout his career, Ken built lifelong relationships with the men he proudly called his brothers at MLGW. His loyalty to his family and his MLGW brothers was one of his greatest strengths.

Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Rooker Hall, and his beloved in-laws, Bob and Elizabeth Hancock.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Betty Hall; his daughters, Angela Elizabeth Cross and her husband, Brandon Cross, and Kimberly Danielle Zachar and her husband, Stephen Zachar, and his three beloved grandchildren, Lizzie Spicer, Brady Zachar, and Layla Zachar. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Gretchen Hancock, as well as several nieces and nephews whom he dearly adored.

Ken will always be remembered for his love of family, his gift for entertaining, and his ability to be the life of every family gathering. He loved to laugh, have a good time, and make lasting memories with the people he loved most.

An avid sports fan, Ken especially loved cheering for the University of Memphis Tigers. Game days became a treasured tradition in the Hall home, filled with excitement, laughter, and time spent together as a family.

Ken loved the Lord and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was a true fighter who set an example of courage, strength, and perseverance. His devotion to his wife, family, friends, faith, and hard work—and his belief in playing just as hard as he worked—set the tone for everyone blessed to know him.

Ken will be deeply missed, but his family will forever cherish the wonderful memories he gave them. They find peace in knowing that this is not goodbye and take comfort in the promise that they will be reunited in Heaven, where they will dance for Jesus together.
