Kenny Lewis passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital on March 13, 2018 in Memphis, TN at the age of 64 after a brief illness. Kenny is survived by his father, Vernon Lewis and his wife Sara of Claremore, OK; his wife of 40 years, Marilyn Lewis of Bartlett, TN; and his daughters, Kylie Lewis of Marietta, GA and Kasey Lewis Richardson of Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is preceded in death by his mother, Neoma Lewis; his son, Justin Lewis; and his sister, Kathy Lewis.
Kenny was born on January 29, 1954 in Hugoton, KS to Vernon and Neoma Lewis. Shortly thereafter, his family relocated to Owasso, OK where he graduated from Owasso High School in 1972. He and his wife Marilyn were married in 1978 and began their life together in Collinsville, OK. His career in the auto care industry required him to relocate to Memphis, TN, followed by Houston, TX, and finally Memphis, TN for the second time, where he has been with the Automotive Distribution Network since 1999. Though it had been nearly 24 years since he had called Oklahoma “home”, he remained an Okie at heart.
Kenny was accomplished at woodworking and enjoyed working with his hands. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, especially items related to racing and football, and displayed them proudly in the Lewis Sports Museum. In his free time, he loved vacationing in the mountains.
A memorial service to celebrate his life is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 3700 N Germantown Parkway in Bartlett, TN at 2:00pm. Visitation will take place immediately prior to the ceremony at 1:00pm and a reception will follow.
