Lewis Cole Mitchell, 60, of Bartlett, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015. He was a retired Lieutenant with the Memphis Fire Department, a US Air Force veteran and started the Memphis Fire Department Explorer Program with the Boy Scouts. Mr. Mitchell, the husband of Deborah Mitchell also leaves a daughter, Christy (John) Brown of Bartlett; sons, Tommy Cole (Lisa) Blalock of Southaven and James (Lacey) Mitchell of Bartlett; brother, Cecil (Ann) Bing of Southaven and eight grandchildren, Jayden Mitchell, Deon Mitchell, Elizabeth Powell, Audree Powell, Arren Blalock, Kortnie Smith, Lani Fair and Melody Fair. A celebration of Mr. Mitchell’s life will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 7 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The family will begin receiving guests at noon.
