Lillian Geraldine Harrison Poston, age 97, of Bartlett, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on
November 7, 2025.
Born July 12, 1928, in Moorhead, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late C.A. Harrison and Mary
Elba Smith Harrison. Lillian spent most of her life in Millington, Tennessee, where she met the love of
her life, John B. Poston, Sr. The two shared many wonderful years together before his passing. For the
past twenty-plus years, Lillian made her home in Bartlett, where she was surrounded by family and
friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Poston, Sr.; her son, John Barrett Poston, Jr.; her
parents, C.A. and Mary Elba Harrison; her brother, Bill Harrison; and many cherished friends.
Survived by;
Her son, Steve Poston and his wife, Debra, her daughter-in-law, Donna Hunycutt; grandchildren Lorie Freiman and husband Pete, Julie Alberson and husband Randy, Emilie Davis and husband Jordan, Jeff Devisfruto and wife Angela, Britney Bryant and husband Kevin, and Lisa Orman and husband David.
Great-grandchildren:
Baker Self and wife Kennedy, Karson Self, Keaton Self, Piper Alberson, Miller Alberson, Cannon
Devisfruto, Payton Williams, Stevie Jean Davis, Emma Bryant, Ethan Bryant, Mason Orman, and Mary
Brooks Orman.
Life and Legacy:
Lillian lived a full and creative life. She was an artist at heart who enjoyed ceramics during their heyday
and crafted exquisite Christmas ornaments from chicken and duck eggs that became treasured family
keepsakes. She loved tending her flower beds, painting, traveling, and spending time with those she
loved. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she shared that love of the Lord with her family and
friends.
When her children were growing up, Lillian made sure her family was in church every Sunday morning
at Frayser Baptist Church, where they made many wonderful friends and memories. After moving from
Frayser, she visited several other churches before finding a spiritual home at Ellendale Baptist Church,
which she loved dearly and where she developed many lasting friendships.
Her favorite travel companion and dear friend, Joy Bomar, joined her on many beautiful adventures that
brought her great joy over the years.
Lillian’s warmth, creativity, and faith will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a
legacy of love, laughter, and beauty that will continue to inspire her family for generations to come
A visitation for Lillian will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133. A food and fellowship for friends and family will occur Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, TN 38133. A committal service will occur Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery & Funeral Home, 6755 US-51, Millington, TN 38053.
