Lonna was born June 12th, 2010 to Lauren and Billy Rook at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. She was their first child and remains the apple of their eyes.
Lonna was gifted in all arts. She was a freshman at Bartlett Ninth Grade Academy, where she played Clarinet for the award winning band. She could draw, paint, sculpt, and even write short stories. She loved anime, making jewelry, and like most teenagers, posting edits and videos on TikTok. She was extremely talented, kind, and helpful toward everyone, even if she was struggling. Lonna never met a stranger, left everyone with a smile, and her true beauty inside and out, made an impression upon all those who knew and loved her.
Lonna or , "Moon", as her friends affectionately called her, leaves behind, her mother, Lauren Rook of Bartlett, her father, William(Billy) Rook lll, of Millington; her many grandparents: Cathy and Randy Hall of Bartlett, David and Sharon Williams of Memphis, Glen Benefield of Memphis, Theda and Mike Gatlin, and Kristine Milka, of Millport, Alabama, A Great -Grandmother(MEME), Robyn Cobb, of Memphis; five brothers: Reid, Seth and Carter, Tristan, and Everett, and four sisters: Jordyn, Willow, Archer, and Audrey; her aunt and uncles Scott and Shirley Cobb and Joey and Lori Fili, both of Bartlett, her beloved cousins: Kiarra, Molly, and Ava, and her best friend, Reagan. She also leaves scores more family and extended family, in- laws, step parents, teachers, coaches, counselors, friends, and neighbors who are also devastated by her sudden loss.
Her arrangements are still being finalized but there will be a private graveside for family, and celebration of life memorial service open to all those who've loved her. The specifics will be announced at a later date as they're made.
The family asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the planning and services, as this is very difficult to do and they appreciate your patience. We would also like to remind everyone that love is the only thing that can conquer hate, so be kind; you never know who is struggling behind a smile.
"Where there is great grief, there was great LOVE."
