Lonnie F. Brownlee, age 82, of Memphis, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Lonnie, was born in New Albany, MS to the late Rush and Mary Brownlee.
Lonnie lived, worked and led his family in Racine, WI. After working at Twin Disc as a machine press operator until he retired in 2002. Lonnie and his wife Marie then relocated to Memphis, TN to be closer to their children.
Lonnie was a true lover of cars any and all aspects from working on, collecting, driving and buying them was his passion. He is fondly remembered as being a sharp dresser and being as cool as the other side of the pillow.
Lonnie was an example of a true Christian man. Lonnie was not always the loudest voice to be heard, but when he spoke it was to your benefit to listen. He served as an elder for South Germantown Road Church of Christ for 12 years until his health declined.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nell Marie Brownlee, his Son, Dwight Brownlee (Renae), his daughter, Yolanda Brownlee-Jackson (Kevon), three grandchildren, Anthony Heard (Kimberly), Christopher Heard, and Jo’Nelle Brownlee; two great-grandchildren, Cicely Heard and Khloe Heard, and his sister, Louise Barker (Bernell-deceased).
Lonnie was proceeded in death by his sister Mattie Golden (Eddie Sr.) and two brothers; Joe Brownlee (Hattie), and Willie Ed Brownlee (Eddie Mae).
Revelations 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Visitation for Lonnie will be held Friday November 10, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at External Service Location, 3825 S. Germantown Road, Memphis, TN 38125
Funeral services will occur Friday, November 10, 2023 from, 12:00pm to 1:00pm, 3825 S. Germantown Road, Memphis, TN 38125
Graveside service will occur Friday, November 10, 2023 from 1:30pm to 2:00pm, 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy, Memphis, TN 38133

My Darling Husband, I am going to miss you, for 61 years you have been my best friend, my provider and protector. We had our good times and bad times, but we had them together. I’ll cherish the laughter we shared the quite times we had. Thank you for being the Christian man that led our family. My darling husband you can rest now, you fought a good fight. Until I see you again.
