Lori Lee (Pruitt) Taylor, 44, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the early morning hours of September 8th at the Somerville farm she loved. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Robert Pruitt. She is survived by her husband, Dan, and her stepsons, Will and Josh. She is also survived by her mother, Jennifer Pruitt, her sister, Lisa Pruitt, her uncles and aunts Ronnie and Mary Caraway, Lyn and Donna Drake, and her cousins Courtney Cole, Misty Sullivan, and Amber Drake. And she leaves behind her beloved dogs Bogey, Birdie, Heidi, and Sugar. Lori graduated from Millington High School in 1989. She then graduated from Christian Brothers University with honors with a degree in engineering. Lori was a former Miss Millington, Miss Lakeland, and Miss Desoto County. She was a Legal Assistant with the law firm of Taylor & Bean at the time of her death. She was a beautiful lady with a kindness and gentleness beyond description. She always put the concerns and feelings of others ahead of her own. She just had a way of making people feel comfortable and loved in her presence. Her smile would light up a room, and every heart in it. Lori rode horses in Wyoming, skied mountains in Montana, and rode bicycles in San Francisco. She hunted pheasants in South Dakota, rode jet skis in Florida, and loved walking in Manhattan. Her love and companionship were her Husband’s source of happiness and his source of strength. She was his anchor in an uncertain world. She touched many lives in her short time on earth, and she made the world a better place for all who knew her. She leaves a void that cannot be filled.
