Louise Skelton Dean Leach was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1924. She went to her heavenly home on October 14, 2010. Being the third of seven children, and being raised in the Great Depression era helped make her the resourceful and strong person that she was. She was a great cook and if you ever had the pleasure of eating her food, then you were truly blessed. Louise was blessed with 5 biological children and their spouses – Johnny L. Dean (Joann) of Memphis; Damie L. Dean of Mesa, AZ; Brenda M. Bartel(Charlie) of Tucson, AZ; William J. Dean (Barbara) of Lewisville, CO; and Jerry A. Dean (Cynthia) of Memphis; and a lucky few that she claimed as her own, including Genelle Clancy (David) of Memphis. She also had 14 Grandchildren and 22 Great-Grandchildren. She had many friends, a heart as big as the sky and had performed so many acts of kindness and charity over the years that she was loved and respected by anyone who had the pleasure of her company. She was a great mother, grandmother, homemaker, sister and an amazing friend, and she loved God with all her heart. Visitation will be Monday, October 18, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway. Services to celebrate Louise’s life and honor her memory will be held Tuesday, October 19, at 2 p.m. at the same location. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, formerly Memory Hill Gardens.
