Mabel L. Sanders Walters, 80, of Memphis, TN passed away at her home on Thursday, March 17, 2016. She was born in Scottsboro, AL on June 20, 1935 to the late Emmitt Sanders and Dorothy Travis Sanders Kalizae. Mrs. Walters, the dear wife of Donald E. Walters for 45 years, is also survived by a daughter, Dawn Walters of Titusville, FL; two sons, Carl E. Walters and Terry Fowler both of Memphis, TN; two sisters, JoAnn Monix of St. John, IN and Janice Basham of Lowell, IN; two brothers, Larry Sanders, of Scottsboro, AL and Tim Kalizae of Lake Dale, IN; four grandchildren, Teresa Whelpley, Greg Mackey and Rick and Jeremy Millican; four great grandchildren, Nathan, Aiden, Hannah and Krystal; and one great great granddaughter, Aubrey. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Mackey. Graveside services will be in the Travis Family Cemetery in Scottsboro, AL at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 23. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial gifts be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Heart Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
