Margaret "Imogene" Reid

Margaret “Imogene” Reid, 87, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on January 25, 2015 at Magnolia Place under Hospice Care in New Albany, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D.O. Pannell, Sr. of New Albany, Mississippi. Imogene was a graduate of New Albany High School. She then attended and received a Bachelor of Education from Blue Mountain College. Mrs. Reid taught school for 42 years, 36 of those years at Bartlett High School where she taught Senior English. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell E. Reid. She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Anne Farned and her husband Bill of New Albany, MS., Lisa Camille Murphy and her husband Marty of Dallas, TX. and Stacey Eugenia Reid of Decaturville, TN.; nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Imogene and her late husband were members of Bartlett United Methodist Church since 1951. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, January 29th from 12-2pm with the funeral starting at 2pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The interment will also be at Memorial Gardens. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Bartlett United Methodist Church.
