Marlene Sydney Demchuk was called home to Heaven on Thursday September 24, 2026. She was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Larry Demchuk. Marlene was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan on February 11, 1941 to Robert and Mae Parkinson. Marlene was a lover of birds, angels, gardening, quilting, watching tennis, shopping, manicures & pedicures, and eating sweet treats. She was also a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Marlene leaves behind her four daughters, who were blessed to call her Mom: Kim Demchuk, Sandy Ring (Doug), Jodi Lytle (Robert) and Donna Bates (Vance); as well as her seven grandchildren: David Caron, Joanna Caron (Caleb), Mackenzie Ring (Stephen), Deanna Czerwonka (Kale), Erika Bates, Alison Lytle (Devin) and Matthew Lytle. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Peter.
Marlene lived her life deeply rooted in faith, kindness, generosity, and love. Her faith in God was not simply something she spoke about, but it was woven into the way she lived, the way she loved, and the way she gave to others. She taught her family the beauty of faith and the joy of giving without expecting anything in return.
We will miss the sound of her voice, her love, her kindness, and the presence she brought into our lives. And though our hearts are heavy with the sadness of losing her, we find comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of Jesus, where there is no pain and no sorrow. We rejoice knowing that this goodbye is not forever.
She has finished her race and kept the faith.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Marlene’s beautiful life. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 N. Germantown Parkway). A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, September 30 at 10:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
