Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Meyer

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Meyer, 91, of Cordova, died on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN after a short illness. She was born on September 28, 1924, in Nashville, TN. As a child she moved to Louisville, KY where she later met and married her sweetheart of 66 years. Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by her husband, Ira. W. Meyer, and their infant son, Jeffrey. She was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church and The King’s Family Sunday School Class. Mrs. Meyer served alongside her husband with The Gideon’s International Ministry for 30 plus years, placing bibles in the highways and by-ways of life. Mrs. Meyer is survived by her children, Chris and Steve Brandon of Memphis, TN, Keith and Renee Meyer of Port Arthur, TX, and Carol Meyer of Cordova; five grandsons, Stephen Brandon, Evan Brandon, Christopher Brandon, Paul Meyer, Ryan Meyer, six great grandchildren and her goddaughter Jill Holtgrewe Peeler, of St. Louis, MO. The family will receive friends from 12pm until service time at 2pm, on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. Mrs. Meyer will be interred with her husband Ira on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 11:30 am, at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
