Carolyn was born on February 12,1940 to Lois and Carroll Glass in Garland, Tennessee.
She married her husband Leon in 1962 after meeting in the elevator of the Cotton Exchange Building where she worked. Leon and Carolyn had two boys, Lee and Tiger, who were the joys of her life. When her boys were growing up, Carolyn’s life revolved around their sports. She was a sports lover herself and enjoyed coaching girls’ basketball at Holy Rosary Catholic School when her kids were young.
Carolyn will be remembered for being a wonderful cook. She could never just cook for a few people, so every meal was a feast enjoyed by all. She made pounds and pounds of her famous homemade fudge each year for Christmas that was a staple for friends and family for over 4 decades. She also enjoyed gardening and proudly won the English Meadows Yard of the Month in 2024. Carolyn never turned down a girl’s day and enjoyed many shopping trips and nail spa days with her granddaughter and daughter-in-law.
Carolyn was proceeded in death by her parents Lois and Carroll Glass, three brothers; Benny Glass (Glenda), Ted Glass (Sue), and Steve Glass (Helen), son Tiger Haag, and sister-in-law Mary Ann Carbonell.
She is survived by her beloved husband Leon Haag, son Lee Haag (Julie), three grandchildren; Jordan Hurdle (Jake), Jason Haag, and Houston Haag (Katy), three great grandchildren; Brody Langston, Emery James Haag, and Sloan Hurdle, six siblings; Karen Griffin (Morris), June Gross (Allen), Larry Glass (Gerda), Richard Glass (Doris), Tim Glass (Robbie), and Jimmy Glass (June). She held her extended Haag family close to her heart, including Skeet Haag (Beth), Karen Frey (Joe), Debbie Ross (Mike), and Mike Haag (Phyllis). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary children that she fed and helped shape throughout the years. She held a very special place in her heart for her dear friend and caretaker for the last several years of her life, Sandy Miller.
Visitation will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Wednesday May 21st from 9:30 AM- 10:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 AM.
