Mary Elizabeth Miller, 77, of Drummonds, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026. She was born on December 17, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Orene Ward and Troy Jordan. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Eddie Ward.
Mary married Alton Ray Miller on June 23, 1964, and together they built a life centered around their family. Alton preceded her in death in December 2025.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She especially loved watching her boys play sports and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all types of sports, particularly college basketball. Whether cheering from the stands or watching a game at home, Mary took great joy in supporting the people and teams she loved.
Her dedication and warmth also shaped her working life. Mary began her career as a receptionist at a law firm before spending many years at a dentist’s office. Wherever she worked, she formed lasting friendships and cherished the memories she made with her coworkers and the people she met along the way.
Mary is survived by her sons, Donald Ray Miller and his wife, Cathy, of Bartlett, Tennessee, and David Ray Miller and his wife, Leah, of Moscow, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Hunter Miller and his wife, Tram, and Jackson Miller and his wife, Samantha; and her great-granddaughter, Lily. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Jordan and Mike Ward and his wife, Kelly; her brother-in-law, Vernon Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, parents, and stepfather, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Hollbrook.
Mary will be remembered for her warm smile, her love for her family, and the joy she found in being surrounded by the people she loved. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and treasured the friendships she made throughout her life. She leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on September 28, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Celebration Of Life Service at the same location at 2:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134, US, on September 28, 2026, at 3:00 pm .
