Melba Jane Hopkins Adams

Melba Jane Hopkins Adams, of Memphis, TN, passed away on July 12, 2016; she was 79. Mrs. Adams was a licensed practical nurse for Shelby County before her retirement. She enjoyed reading and loved painting, food, and older murder mystery television shows. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, John Carroll Adams, her parents, Earl T. and Catherine Hopkins, her sister, Anita Holden, and her daughter, Deborah Jane Doss. She is survived by her children, Michael Baugh, Danny Baugh, Cindi Adams Margado, and Whitnee Adams Pointer, her siblings, Joe Hopkins, Tommy Hopkins, and Irma Carmichael, as well as thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends the evening of Sunday, July 17, from five until eight o’clock. Funeral services will be ten o’clock the morning of Monday, July 18. Visitation and funeral will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133. Memorial contributions may be sent to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.
