She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Melody valued time with her family, she had a wide ranging love for all things music and her never wavering love for her Memphis (State) Tigers and her many pets over the years. Melody lit up any room she entered and never once met a stranger. If she ever did, they both always left as friends.
Melody leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Gary Conklin, her son, Todd Conklin(Melissa), her daughter, Cammie Kegel(Clay) and her grandchildren Colin, Madison, Reagan and Grace. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Lulu Pitts.
Melody was preceded in death by her parents Prather and Carrie Jo Williams as well as her brother Joe Williams.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133 on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 11:30am - 1:30pm.
