Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for the recent passing of Mike who was a dear friend to me. Your family has constantly been in my thoughts and prayers over the past few weeks and I wanted to write to you and share with you a few of the fond memories I had with Mike. I considered him one of my closest work buddies when I worked at Trend Sales. He taught me so much about calling on customers when Joe first asked me to take that on as part of my role at Trend. I will never forget the first time I went around with him on sales calls. It was easy to see that he was loved by all of his customers and why he was so great at what he did. He was so kind to talk me through the process of what it looked like to sell candy, especially candy that wasn’t easy to sell sometimes :) However, my favorite “skill” I learned from Mike was how to find great food while making sales calls. If there was one thing he and I had in common, it was food! We both loved diet coke, desserts, hamburgers, and of course pizza! He was also notorious for introducing me to the very best appetizers at any restaurant.
On a personal level, Mike was one of the most caring people I have ever known. He was always asking me about my family, my husband, life in Nashville, and was so good about checking in even when I no longer worked for Trend. He was a man that truly knew how to care for others and make them feel so loved and appreciated. I am so thankful to have learned so much from Mike and will always cherish our time we spent together.

Jean, Ashlee and Jake
No matter what kind of day I was having, it was always better when Duck came by to see me. Since he passed a few days ago, I suddenly realize how many times a day I usually thought about Duck. When I see an add on TV about any restaurant, I think 'Duck and I gotta check that out'. When I see a good game, I couldn't wait to hear Duck's opinion. I walk through the warehouse and think 'I need to call Duck and see if........' I could go on, but no doubt you guys are dealing with the same feelings a hundred times over. I will pray to the Good Lord for comfort for you. I know for a fact that the great memories you have will slowly overtake the grief. Duck would want that. May God comfort and bless. Love, Gary Wilkes

Mike was a true friend and a wonderful colleague with which I was very fortunate and honored to have had the opportunity to work closely with for 14 years. His warm laugh and dynamic personality were contagious and Mike was loved by all.

My prayers and sympathy are with the Call family, and may God bless Mike and his family.
