To his family he was Mike, Dad, or Pawpaw but to many from his youth and church family he was Bro. Mike. Mike was born in Dallas, TX on September 16, 1953 to Doug and Marcile Reynolds. Mike accepted Christ into his life at age 10 and felt the Lord’s calling to ministry at age 18. On August 16, 1974, he married his princess, Kathy; God blessed them with three children. He graduated from East Texas Baptist College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as a youth minister for 34 years at four churches in Texas and Tennessee, and pastored in two churches in Tipton County. His present church is Smyrna Baptist, and he faithfully loved serving as pastor there for almost seven years.
Mike was an amazing husband, loving dad and pawpaw, and caring minister. He loved to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and his testimony will live on through the countless lives he impacted. To know him was to experience the love, patience, and kindness of Jesus. He lived a life of integrity and lived his life to glorify the Father. He was always there for anyone who needed him.
Mike Reynolds leaves behind the love of his life of 47 years, Kathy; and his children, Jennifer (Brandon), Daniel (Laura), and Marissa (Collin); seven grandchildren, Austin, Emi, Gavin, Aubrey, Carson, Eli, and Madison. He meets one grandchild in Heaven, Hope Reynolds. He also leaves behind two sisters, Jeanne (David) Cason, and Susan (Bob) Peyton; one brother, Larry (Betty) Reynolds; and sister-in-law Lori Featherkile, and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Douglas and Marcile Reynolds; father and mother in-law, Jack and Stella Harris; brother-in-law, Harold Harris; and neice, Robin York.
