Michael Allen Roper

Michael Allen Roper, born February 19, 1963 to Barbara and Michael Roper of Bartlett, TN, died Sunday, January 25, 2015. He leaves his parents, two adoring sisters, Laura Roper and Jennifer Thompson of Memphis, and four loving children, Michael Gatteys Roper, Lee Anderson Roper, Savannah Grace Roper, and Nick Harrington Roper, all of Memphis. Mike was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and was never seen without a smile on his face, a sparkle in his eyes, and a most generous spirit in his heart. He was a graduate of Bartlett High School and was a journeyman mason after serving a four year apprenticeship in the masonry program under TN Union #5. He was the fourth generation of a Memphis masonry family. He went into business with his father and they built many masonry structures in Memphis and the Mid-South. Upon his father’s retirement, he opened his own successful masonry company, M.A. Roper, Inc. He was a much loved son, brother and father and will be missed deeply by all. Michael, along with his parents, are members of Ellendale United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at the church, 7205 Centralia Road, Ellendale, TN on Friday, January 30 from 11:00 to 1:00 with services beginning at 1:00.
