
Mike Wagner, a great and beloved man, went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2015. He will be remembered as a kind and tender-hearted man, always loving and giving to others. He was a thoughtful person and a perfectionist – always taking time to do things the right way. Mike is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jeanette Boyd Wagner; two children, Christy Kjellin and Sam Jerden (Kate), three granddaughters, Caitlin, Riley, and Skylar, all of Bartlett, TN; two sisters, Diane Wagner Cooper of Arlington, TN, and Patricia Wagner Easterling of Dallas, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews, including two nephews he helped raise, Mike Cooper (Susan) of Hernando, MS, and Tim Cooper (Dianne) or Arlington, TN. Warner Lee Michael Wagner was born on December 25, 1947 in Memphis to Paul F. and Cordelia Ruth Wagner. Mike graduated from Messick High School in 1965, graduating from the Academy in 1969. He moved up through the ranks of the police department, serving for over 42 years. While serving on the Memphis Police Department, he was a Marksman and a member of Sharpshooter Pistol Team. He retired in July 2011 at the rank of Captain. Mike was a jack-of-all-trades, and master of all, and there was nothing he couln’t do. During his lifetime, he owned and operated many companies and wore many hats. He was a certified safe cracker, owned a locksmith company, an alarm company, a pest control company, a security and cleaning company, Laundromats, iron door company, and worked as a polygraph technician/examiner. Most recently, Mike owned and operated Bartlett Heating and Air, originally Wagner Heating and Air, for 36 years. He was also an adjunct professor of heating and air conditioning technology at Southwest Community College for 8 years. He was an NRA certified handgun safety instructor, and owned and operated the Tennessee Handgun Carry School in Bartlett, TN for the last 3 years. Mike was a charter member of Redeemer Evangelical Church of Collierville, TN. Visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Sunday, January 4, 2015 and funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 3pm, all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett. Interment will follow onsite in Memorials Gardens.
