

She met a New York Sailor, who spent his childhood in New York, on a double date with her best friend and they married on Oct 5, 1948. Her husband Joe, stayed in the navy Reserves and was called back for the Korean War, sent to San Diego, California. Upon release they returned to Memphis and stayed.
They had 2 children, both born in Memphis. In 1955 they bought a home in the Berclair area and she lived there for 70 years. Nita went to work for Sear on Poplar in the Gift Wrap before being promoted to the Accounting Department. She retired from Sears. Her husband, Joe worked for Prest Manufacturing Lumber and American Can.
As their children grew out of the family home, she & Joe bought a motor home and hit the road on the camping trails of America. They went to state and Canada, except Hawaii, no bridges.
They attended St. Michael's Catholic Church and her husband belonged to the Moose Club. They had many lifelong friends from neighbors and working friends. Their next door neighbors, Patrick & Theresa Warriner, had a long and happy friendship and passed that on to their children.
Her daughter, Pat, lives in Memphis and her son Joe, lives in Loveland, Colorado.
She will be missed by so many wonderful family & friends
