E. Jean Hayes, 78, of Memphis passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett. She was born August 19, 1938, in Arlington, TN to the late, Clarence O. and Etha Mae King. Mrs. Hayes was a retired respiratory therapist with the V.A. after 33 years of service and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Ira Conley and O.D. Hayes; and step-mother, Beatrice King. Mrs. Hayes is survived by her daughters, Jacquelyn Hayes and Audrey Conley both of Memphis; step-son, William Hayes (Margaret) of Memphis; sister, Sharon Edens of California; brother, Odel King (Laurie Brown) of Sacramento, California; grand-dogs, Chrystal and Buddy; grand-cat, Gabby; a host of relatives and close friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett with a catered reception to follow. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association.
