

Nancy Pylant Swanton Bumpus, of Arlington, TN unexpectedly passed away on July 5, 2016; she was 56. Mrs. Bumpus loved the Lord and His Word, carrying her Bible with her everywhere. She loved music and attending rock-and-roll concerts, dancing, and motorcycle riding; she had an active social life and a great sense of humor. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister. Honest and patriotic, she was very accepting of all people and had a heart of empathy for people with mental and physical disabilities, of whom she was fiercely protective. A one-of-a-kind, free spirited individual who danced to the beat of her own drum, Mrs. Bumpus will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her fifteen month old daughter, Lana Michelle Younger, her father, Max Pylant, and her husband, Duke Swanton. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Swanton, who was the apple of her eye, her husband, Dan Bumpus, her mother, Mary Pylant, and her sisters, Anna Pechak (Chris) and Amy Williams (Michael). The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 10 from noon until services at two o’clock at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN.
