

NeySa Lineberry McDowell was born June 29, 1926 and passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012. NeySa graduated from Messick High School in 1944. She then moved to Washington, DC where she served our country as a civilian courier during world war II. She returned home and married her high school sweetheart in 1947. She was very active in all her children and grand children's lives by not only being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother but also working as a school crossing guard at Treadwell High School and always volunteering for band, ROTC, basketball, softball, volleyball and even golf. She was a Police Ambassador with the Memphis Police Department and a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church. NeySa retired from Procter and Gamble after 15 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Preston McDowell, parents William M., Sr and Alice Lineberry, grandson Christopher Camp, 1 sister, 3 brothers, 4 sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law. She is survived by her children Robert McDowell (Diane), Springville, TN, John E. McDowell, Waterford, MS, Yolanda Martin (Charlie), Memphis, Jacquelyne Camp (Chuck), Hornlake, MS, Hank McDowell (Carol), Cordova, TN, Raymond McDowell (Angela), Drummonds, TN and brother Fred Lineberry and wife Shirley, Downers Grove, IL. She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren Shawn and Matthew McDowell, Chasity Youngman, Ryan Arnold, Charlie Martin, Ashley Camp, Chad Black, Shanna Morris, Patrick and Jake McDowell, Amanda, Miko and Savannah McDowell and five great grandchildren Jack, Donavan and Aiden McDowell, Abigail and Kloie Black. Also Special Friend Rosie Niter.
The family will receive friends at the Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, Sunday, December 23 from 2-5 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 24, at 10:00 a.m.
