Olin Robertson (Bob) Page, age 90, a resident of the Ellendale Community of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed on March 12, 2013, following a brief illness. He was born on July 22, 1922, in McKenzie, Tennessee to Olin Julian and Cora Page. His father died of a war related illness when Bob was only 5 years old. To help support the family Bob went to work at age 7 in a bakery and then delivered papers with his older brother, Lewis. Bob was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving as an aircraft mechanic in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, he worked for the Commercial Appeal and for the United States Postal Service as a rural route mail carrier until his retirement in 1975. Afterward, he enjoyed beekeeping, homing-pigeon racing, fishing, and working in his bountiful garden. His yearly fish fry was a favorite time for his family and many friends in the community. Bob was a member of the Ellendale United Methodist Church. He is survived by daughters Patricia Demetriou (Bud), Edith Stahl (Ray), Ruth Watson (Jay), Rebecca Page, and the mother of these girls, Edith, to whom he was married for 56 years. His eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren include: Nichole Watson Helsley (Derek and Ryan); Marla Frost; Brian Stahl (Sophia); Krista Pierce (Elliot and Beckett); Aaron Stahl; Jacob Watson (McKenna); Brady Watson (Eirnin and Jeannie); and John Watson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Bob’s favorite charity, Covenant House (which provides a network of shelters and support for homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth), The King's Daughters & Sons Home, or one's other charity of choice. Funeral services and interment will be Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. (visitation will begin 1:00 p.m.) at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd.
