

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Patricia Bethea Johnson, age 85, of Munford, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 18th. Patricia was born in Hermitage, AR on December 19th, 1939 to Ras and Mabel Bethea.
Born and raised in South Arkansas, Patricia graduated from Hermitage High School in 1957. She grew up playing basketball, singing in the choir, and playing the piano in church. She married and moved to Tennessee shortly after graduation. Patricia served in her church(es) in many ways, most notably playing the piano and singing in the choir. She supported her children then grandchildren at every sporting event, band competition, award ceremony, and everything in between. There was no distance she would not travel to let her people know that she was there.
Patricia retired from Quaker Oats after more than 30 years of service in the payroll department. She volunteered and led many senior adult groups including MAGI at Arlington Baptist Fellowship then moving to the Arlington Senior Center. She was always prepared to make you feel welcome, help you make a plate of food, and try to beat you in any card game. She was a dedicated member of Egypt Baptist Church, Arlington Baptist Fellowship, then Munford Baptist Church.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Pam Reeves of Munford; grandchildren Justin (Shelby) Reeves of Munford, and Joshua (Rachel) Reeves of Conway, AR; great-grandchildren Shiloh, Sawyer, Eloise, and Eleanor; brothers Ira “Sonny” (Diane) Bethea of Hermitage, AR, and Ronald “Ronnie” (Sandra) Bethea of Hermitage, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents Ras and Mabel Bethea; husband Nathan “Sonny” Johnson; daughter Ronda Johnson.
The family will welcome friends and family for visitation on Tuesday, October 21st from 5-7pm at Munford Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd at 10am at Munford Baptist Church with internment to follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Bartlett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Christian organization of your choosing.
