Paul C. Smith

Paul C. Smith of Lepanto, Arkansas, also known by many of his friends as 'Crawdad' just celebrated his 75th birthday on Monday, February 19, 2024 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at his home, where he loved to be, watching old westerns.

Paul retired at the age of 62 from the Rayloc Company of Memphis on February 19, 2011 and he was very proud of this accomplishment after 42 years of committed service. He was a member of the Lepanto Church of Christ, loved drag racing, everyone in the drag racing community and was a huge jokester, especially with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ann Smith in 2013; his parents A.C. and Opal Smith; siblings, Jackie Smith, Billy Joe Smith, Connie Smith Jones; and a grandson, Paul Richard Smith.

Paul is survived by his two sons, Paul ‘Chad’ Smith (Melissa) of Bartlett, TN and Anthony Craig Smith (Jessica) of Lepanto, AR; grandchildren, Austin Smith (Madison) of Trumann, AR and Brandon Smith of Lepanto, AR; great granddaughter, Kimber Smith; additional grandchildren, Chloe Webb of Hollywood, FL, Cooper Webb of Memphis, TN and Carter Webb of Memphis, TN; siblings, Linda Powell of Jonesboro, AR, Jimmy Smith of Marked Tree, AR, Ronnie Smith of Alabama and Renee Smith of Paragould, AR.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the chapel of Delancey Funeral Home-Lepanto, Arkansas with the committal to follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery-Lepanto.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Austin Smith, Brandon Smith, Jeff Huffman, Taylor Huffman, Eric McGhee and Adam Henard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Watson, Glen Tyler, William Tyler, Mitchell Tyler and Buddy Jones.
