Paul Thomas Loden, Jr. "Tommy", 76, of Memphis, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, at the Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. Visitation will start at 12:30 p.m. with the service to follow.
Tommy loved the Rolling Stones and classic rock in general. In his teenage years, he played drums in a garage band. He had a 65 GT Mustang in his younger days that he raced as a hobby. He never lost his love for Mustangs and inspired his son and stepson to get Mustangs and instilled in them his love of cars. Tommy also loved to take his son and stepson to Boy Scout events during their years growing up. He took them camping and taught them how to shoot and fish. Tommy served time in the Navy during the Vietnam era. Tommy enjoyed hunting, being outdoors and all things history. Settle in because once you got him started on a history conversation you were there for the long hall. He loved watching reenactments and living history events on the weekends.
Tommy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Vicki Loden; sister, Judy Loden Smith and her husband, Terry Smith; son, Phillip Loden and his wife Leah Loden; stepson, Joel Meadows and wife Jennifer Meadows; granddaughter, Carmen Meadows; niece, Lisa Smith Sugg; sister-in-law, Patricia Moore Caldwell. Predeceased by his father, Paul Loden Sr.; mother, Coy Loden.
