Peggy W. Hood, age 84, of Bartlett, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 28, 2026. Born June 17, 1942, in Oxford, MS, Peggy’s life was marked by steadfast faith, enduring devotion to those she loved, and a quiet strength that could be felt in the way she showed up for her family day after day.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae James and George W. Peeples; her son, Michael A. Diana; and her grandson, Michael A. Diana II.
For 56 years, Peggy shared a faithful marriage with her husband, Ronald L. Hood Sr. A partnership rooted in commitment and care, and one that became the foundation of a family she cherished deeply. She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Hood Sr.; her children: Deneen DeLappe (Tim), Ronald L. Hood Jr. (April), and Larry L. Hood (Christina); her sisters, Patricia White and Shelia Kissinger; her brother, Henry James; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Peggy retired from Schering Plough, and in the years beyond work, she poured her time into what mattered most—being with family, reading her Bible, and finding simple joys in everyday moments. She also enjoyed shopping and loved watching U of M Basketball, bringing her steady enthusiasm and warm presence to the routines and traditions that made life feel full.
Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, on November 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow at the same location on November 2, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Memory Hill Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, on November 2, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Peggy Hood. Donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
