Our dear Uncle Philip who we call Bubba all our lives because
my Dad when he was little could not say Philip, will be immensely
missed. After my Dad (Charles King) died 5 years ago and while he was sick, until now Philip has called us checking to see if we were okay and just to talk. We lost all the men in our family and it was endearing when he made those calls to us. We will never forget his kindness. He will be sorely missed by all.
Especially his beautiful family, he was very proud of them all.

Dear King Family,
We send loving prayers to you all as you travel the path of grief, but also joy in the wonderful memories of Philip -- and Pat.
Bill and I are so blessed to have had this long friendship that started in high school and continued with the many trips that started in the 70's.
The way Pat & Philip's family cared for the two of them when life became difficult was and is an inspiration.
Grace and peace from the Lord and our love,
Bill and Linda

Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron,
    so one person sharpens another.
I memorized this verse many years ago. As I reflect on Mr. King’s life (I call him King), I can’t think of anyone other than him that has challenged me more in my Christian walk. King was not a man of many words but his actions shined light in every walk of life. Especially over the last 6 years, we had the opportunity to talk, swim, fish, watch ballgames, go to movies and enjoy many other activities. During our last talk, I promised him and my wife Kelly that I will spend the rest of my living days building my character to be more like him. I know I will fail because this standard is so high but I’m committed to “sharpening my iron”. King was my earthly King and he is now with the King of Kings. Rest In Peace King. I love and miss you until we meet again.

I pray for strength and comfort to Philip's family during this time of loss.
My wife, Barbara Fulghum Boyd and Philip went to Treadwell High school along with Philip's wife Pat to be later.

After we became adults our famlies came together as members at Richland Baptist Church where Philip and I (Garnett Boyd) served as deacons.

He was a true friend and will be greatly missed.

Dear King Children:
Charlene and I send our deepest sympathies to our 2nd set of children. We share your grief at this sad time. Saying goodbye to a wonderful friend of 70 years is very difficult. Although Philip is not physically with us, he is here in spirit and will be for years to come. We have so many wonderful memories of our times together with Pat & Philip which we will always cherish. When you three and our three came along, we continued to create unforgettable memories. Since then, our families have grown extensively, but we still continued to share memorable times with our best friends. We are fortunate to have had all the Kings in our lives. God bless all of you and give you comfort and peace in this time of sorrow. All our love,
Larry and Charlene
