

Philip began his professional career in 1978 at FedEx’s Memphis hub, advancing into technology roles where he dedicated 10 years of service. He later transitioned to technology positions at Promise Hotels and then TruGreen (formerly ServiceMaster) until his retirement. An enterprising spirit, Philip founded several companies, notably “Mosquito Squad of Memphis,” which he successfully operated for five years before selling.
Philip was an active member of New Hope Christian Church in Bartlett, Tennessee.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Molly Laster; daughter Nicole; and twin sons Rory and Charlie. He was blessed with four granddaughters—Lily Brewer, Marleigh Brewer, Bella Brewer, and Eden Brewer—and one grandson, Cadence Laster. Philip was predeceased by his parents, Taft and Jimmi Laster; his sister, Candy Cotham; his sister LeDon Laster; and his granddaughter, Marleigh Brewer.
Philip’s legacy is one of hard work, entrepreneurship, and unwavering family devotion. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
